Latest European TPMS & labelling legislation

Europe is following the US: TPMS are becoming mandatory from November 2012 on. Car manufacturers are right now preparing to meet all legal requirements. Now the European industry is considering the driver’s acceptance of TPMS. Experiences made in the US so far are therefore interesting to learn from. Strongly related to the issue of TPMS is the discussion of further functionalities of the tire sensor – the search for the intelligent tire. Announcements are made for serial introduction of a tire sensor.

Another main challenge for the tire industry is the introduction of tire labeling. Countries world–wide are following the European example and introduce legal requirements for tire labeling. However, requirements vary from country to country, which makes compliance for the tire industry extremely difficult.

Meet your industry peers!
