As you all know, the reduction of CO2 emissions is the single most important motivator behind the tire industry’s current activities. An optimised tire performance can make an enormous contribution to reducing an OEM’s average fleet consumption. The challenge lies in reducing rolling noise and resistance while maintaining a good wet grip and driving performance.
The tire industry needs to comply with their customer’s demand for improved road safety and less environmental impact – also to meet with the new EU legislations that will be in place from 2012 onwards.
